Listen and view the presentation [FLASH]

The ArcGIS REST API opens up ArcGIS Server to new libraries not available to users before. OpenLayers is a pure JavaScript library for displaying map data in most modern Web browsers, with no server-side dependencies. OpenLayers implements a JavaScript API for building rich Web-based geographic applications, similar to the Google Maps and MSN Virtual Earth APIs but with one important differenceOpenLayers is free software developed for and by the Open Source software community. Learn how easy it is to use OpenLayers with the ArcGIS REST API, request ArcGIS Server map services, query layers, and display them using proprietary and open source components in harmony. Well walk thorugh the process to create an OpenLayers Web application from scratch with the ArcGIS REST API.
