This session will focus on how to provide custom functionality through server object extensions (SOEs) written in Java and how to expose those SOEs as Web services through REST and SOAP. We will discuss the increasingly important role SOEs play in ArcGIS Server 10, compare the alternatives, and cover developing and deploying an SOE. See examples taken from real-world scenarios and discuss how they were created, developed, and deployed. The session will be presented in a way that will be beneficial to both those unfamiliar with SOEs and experienced SOE developers. You'll find out how SOEs can provide better performance and simplify your development.
