Abstract
Curriculum Update for GIS Programs in Texas Community Colleges Track: Designing Curriculum & Degree Programs Author(s): Bruce Glover College of the Mainland, in conjunction with five other community colleges across Texas, are collaborating to revise existing GIS courses and create new courses to be offered in community colleges across Texas. The committee is also recommending courses for inclusion in certificate and AAS programs. All deliverables from this committee will be statewide in nature and will have applications in other states as well. Deliverables will also be available to all institutions via a website. Emphasis is being placed on turning out employable graduates and matriculation with the high school and university levels. The project is funded by a Carl Perkins grant and steered by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
