Abstract
The Geography Network in the Classroom Track: Teaching with GIS Author(s): Lyn Malone The Geography Network is an invaluable online repository of maps and data. One setting in which the Geography Network can certainly be put to good use is the classroom. Every teacher knows the significance of the "teachable moment" created by real-world events and questions that arise spontaneously in the classroom. This presentation will demonstrate how the Geography Network can transform those teachable moments into opportunities for investigation, exploration, and discovery using nothing more than a computer and a web browser.
