Track: Teaching with GIS
Author(s): Larry Rice

Students at Kealakehe High School on the big island of Hawaii map cultural sites, terrestrial and marine resources, and urban buildings using field GPS, surveying equipment, a digital bus, Sketchup, CAD, and ArcGIS. Hawaiian studies, geography, drafting technology, and science curriculums all contribute to mapping the Kealakehe area.
