AbstractA Modularized Approach to GIS Instruction in Business School Curricula Track: Designing GIS Curriculum for Higher Education Author(s): Fred Miller While the potential for integrating GIS applications into business disciplines and business education (business geographics) has long been recognized, progress toward this objective has been tediously slow. This paper examines that progress in a specific business disciplinemarketing. It also describes an approach to accelerate the integration of business geographics into marketing education, a series of course-specific business geographics modules scattered throughout several marketing courses. This allows students to develop business geographics skills in a task-specific context within related courses in a single discipline. It allows students to develop business geographics skills over time while avoiding undue concentration of business geographics instruction in a single course.
