Rice University’s GIS/Data Center: How Do We Do GIS?
Track: Using GIS in Libraries & Museums
Author(s): Eva Garza

The distribution of GIS services in academic libraries has taken many forms; libraries opt to provide a full array of GIS services, others offer mainly online reference material. This paper will describe our experience in implementing GIS from a central library location. We will attempt to answer the question of whether we are the trend or the exception in the way GIS services are rendered.
