Online marketing techniques can be used to promote organizations that create GIS data, products or services. The author believes that the GIS programs in colleges and universities should include a small but important component covering what online marketing is and what techniques exist to market GIS organizations, data, products, and services online. This paper presents a possible module covering online marketing of GIS organizations, products, and services.
