Youth Community Projects—From the Youth’s Perspective
Track: Community Projects and Partnerships

Youth contributing to their community creates long lasting change. Come listen to the youth projects done by groups from Fuquay- Varina, North Caroline, Santiago, Chile, and Hillsboro, Oregon.

Youth from Santiago, Chile will present their work with bicycle routes in Santiago as well as their recent work in creating change.



North Carolina youth will present their work with community projects. They will present their current work involving a partnership with Wake County Gang Prevention Partnership and the Raleigh Police Department.



Oregon 4-H Tech Wizards engage in various GIS community projects throughout the year. These projects range from a sidewalk walkability index to a street tree inventory for the City of Hillsboro to using GIS in the health sciences.



Youth will also present their work on an international collaborative project, and their future projects.
