AbstractCollecting and Preserving Geospatial Content: The NDGA Experience Track: Using GIS in Libraries and Museums Author(s): Tracey Erwin, Julie Sweetkind-Singer The National Geospatial Digital Archive, a joint project of the University of California, Santa Barbara and Stanford University, has been collecting and preserving geospatial data and imagery for over 4 years. The project has been funded by the Library of Congress through NDIIPP, the National Digital Information Infrastructure & Preservation Program. This talk will present an overview of the current state of the project as it draws to a close, including a discussion of the collection development agreements created, contracts written governing the collection and use of the data and imagery, work on format descriptions, and plans for partnering with other archiving institutions intent on preserving and creating access to these data now and into the future.
