Student Projects in a GIS Course
Track: Teaching with GIS in Higher Education
Authors: Kevin Cary

The course is GIS Analysis and Modling. It's the third course (senior/grad. level) in the series for all GIS programs at WKU. It develops expertise with a broad range of spatial analysis and modeling functions and uses a problem-oriented approach stressing the utility of GIS analysis to a variety of fields. Students enrolled in this course are highly expected to carry over skills and knowledge obtained from its prerequisites. This presentation will discuss its three main projects: (1) writing instructions; (2) 3D modeling of campus; and (3) service areas from student parking lots on the main campus.
