History in Motion: Animating Maps to Show Change Over Time
Track: Teaching with GIS in Schools
Authors: Lyn Malone

The animation function in ArcGIS Desktop provides a significant opportunity for visualizing historic change. Using ArcMap’s animation tools, one can track shifts in global population patterns, observe changing national boundaries, or examine changes in local land use over time. ArcMap makes it easy to create compelling animations of spatial data. This session will provide examples of such animations and describe the basic steps for creating them.
