Towards GIS Technology Community College Avision Approach and Implementation
Track: Teaching with GIS in Higher Education

Purpose: To extend GIS Spatial Technology to every GRCC department and facility.
We are living in the era of globalization where information is being transferred from one side of the world to the other in a matter of seconds. Since research and technology are advancing everyday, it is our responsibility as educators to integrate new technology into our curriculums, thereby providing the generations to come with the skills necessary to compete in the global village. Geospatial technology is one of the leading new technologies of the 21st century. GIS is moving from only a tool to becoming a multidiscipline science; with the improvement analysis capabilities. It is my vision that in five years GIS will be integrated into every department and facility at the college.
