Geospatial Student Collaboration Projects Work!
Track: Teaching with GIS in Higher Education
Authors: Angie Milakovic, David Webb

Increase student geospatial experiences through collaborative learning partnerships. Geospatial technologies can provide effective contexts for meaningful student collaborations. Students from across the country are working on projects together as a direct result of faculty being involved in the NSF-funded iGETT project. This presentation offers examples of projects that can be managed across state lines through the use of various technologies, along with ways to successfully measure and assess these collaborations. Project assessment is based on a geospatial DACUM, which will be shared. Strategies to tie these projects to workforce preparation will be discussed.
