Abstract
ArcGIS Online for University Use
Track: Teaching with GIS Across the Curriculum
Authors: Mark Lindberg, Len Kne, Ryan Mattke
As part of Esri's ArcGIS Online for Education grant program, a group of GIS practitioners at the University of Minnesota evaluated how ArcGIS Online for Organizations might be used across a large land grant university. This included uses in the classroom, for research, and administrative enterprise services. We present the results of our initial investigation highlighting what we believe are opportunities and issues for employing a single university-wide implementation of ArcGIS Online. Topics will include university policy issues as well as technical aspects such as tight integration with ArcGIS 10.1, managing large data sets, and site administration.
