Track: Teaching About GIS for Future Professionals
Authors: Claudia Rojas
The environment-related professions see the need to have basic knowledge on the use and interpretation of aerial photographs, that because of its low cost. Photo interpretation is made, in most cases with the aid of stereoscopes and pocket mirrors, with the classic ways of learning. In recent years with advances in GIS tools opened a new door for the management of aerial photographs. In ArcGIS raster data can be handled with ease, this is how the University was the opportunity to combine traditional technologies with new technologies, I have implemented as an additional tool for ArcGis learning processes of photo-interpretation, showing great advantages for the learning of the chair. The document shows how to perform the synergy between the two technologies and learning outcomes of students during the academic periods of 2011
