Environmental Analysis & Research Technical Help uses GIS to track educational, community, and government Environmental Education partnerships. This enhances these networks and improves identification of service gaps across levels, topics, times, and locations. E.A.R.T.H. includes Database, Computer Mapping, and Outreach programs. The Database contains information about schools, protected areas, ENGOs and agencies. An expanded Database will contain searchable entries on EE programs, materials, state standard correlations, etc. Computer Mapping collects, analyzes, and maps GIS data on environmental issues in southwest Florida. It develops GIS Exercises to promote knowledge and skills for dealing with these problems. GIS experience is not required, and training is provided. As more data become available, integrated natural, social, and economic models will be developed to assess sustainability alternatives. Outreach provides GIS support and training. It places qualified Service Learning students and interns in FGCU courses, schools, ENGOs, and agencies to promote and facilitate GIS use.
