Abstract
Publishing Historical Maps to the Web on Mac and PC
Track: User Presentations - Research
Authors: Benjamin Mearns
With the rise of Digital Humanities, humanities faculty and
researchers are seeking ways to present their material through
interactive maps. A very common project is to overlay Digital
Humanities content on a georeferenced historical map, to be displayed
through a content management system. In February 2013 University of
Delaware (UD) presented a workshop on this topic. This talk will
cover the workflow used in the workshop, which includes use of
mapwarper, maptiler, and a Google Maps My Places KML feed. Some
consideration will also be given to a parallel workflow in ArcGIS
Desktop and ArcGIS Online.
