Track: User Presentations - Learning and Research

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) constitute an important trend in distance education. MOOCs provide access to courses without tuition costs to students, and they challenge traditional models for higher education which emphasize high levels of contact between instructors and students. In this talk I describe lessons learned from designing, developing, and teaching one of the first MOOCs on Mapping, a class called Maps and the Geospatial Revolution.
