Utilizing GIS to Enhance Institutional Research on Graduate Admissions

This study developed an approach for analyzing university institutional data using GIS. It utilized esri ArcMap 10.x tools to analyze U.S. Census data and university graduate enrollment data for the period 2008 to 2013. Tools employed included: spatial statistics, data management, geocoding and model builder. The results and impact are improved decision making for strategic planning, spatial representation of graduate admissions and improved approaches to strategic recruitment planning.
