Abstract
Designing a Relational Database for a Non-Profit Arboretum
Track: Administration and Policy
Authors: Michael Naber, Michael Curtis
A non-profit arboretum had records spread across multiple sources, which were inefficient to manage. A single database and a front-end system for managing the database was developed. It was ported into the project via a web-based application that interfaced with an online map. The online application and database back-end make it efficient for staff to manage their records, with minimal expenditure by the non-profit. The online map interface allows the public to see the park and its landmarks.
