Is Size of School a Factor in Student Success?

This paper uses ArcGIS tools to determine the impact of school size on student success. The paper uses the latest data from California’s Common Core tests to examine student success in elementary schools across California. ArcGIS tools are essential in determining the impact of size because spatial elements in school performance must be accounted for. Among other methods, geographically weighted regression (GWR) – implemented in a tool in the Spatial Statistics toolbox – will be employed.
