Track: Teaching and Research
Authors: Maria Brown
Fifth grade students from Sayville School District’s three elementary schools have evaluated local data sets from The Day in the Life of the River Program sponsored by the New York Central Pine Barrens Commission and Brookhaven National Laboratory’s Open Space Stewardship Program. The goal is to demonstrate, develop, and analyze maps related to water chemistry and biological distribution of organisms collected at varied sampling locations along different rivers in Suffolk County, New York.
