Digitalization of archaeological data is the future of archaeology. Combining them in GIS gives a spectrum of possibilities to preserve sites. The presentation shows how GIS contributes to the rediscovery of ancient Peru. Traditional documentation at Castillo de Huarmey was replaced with a digital one, creating rapid and inexpensive methods of evaluation of the endangered heritage. GIS analyses allowed expanding our knowledge about forgotten landscape and to present the results to the public.
