The paper used ESRI ARC GIS to analyze the current interdistrict magnet school system in Hartford, Connecticut. Using indicators related to family socioeconomic and racial makeup the software was able to tease out indicators related to physical school location and the amount of diversity in school enrollment. The findings from Hartford, Connecticut were then used to propose an interdistrict magnet school program for Springfield, Massachusetts.
