A GIS-based UK Army Command and Control System

The Battlefield Management system (BATMAN) is currently in the final stages of development and will be deployed in November 1996. This system demonstrates the integration of commercial GIS and Oracle RDBMS with a modern development environment. BATMAN is a client/server application. It comprises ArcView and a bespoke Delphi client accessing the active data resident in an Oracle database running on an NT server.
