Supporting Multiple Missions through Geospatial Analytical Tradecraft
Track: Data Fusion
Authors: Carl Walter

Law Enforcement and Defense are facing a mission convergence. Mission convergence is the growth in law enforcement working alongside defense and other public safety forces to disrupt multi-national criminal networks, counter threats and promote comprehensive national security. To combat these networks and threats, demand is building for solutions that support the exchange of analytical tradecraft. This presentation will focus on how to leverage geospatial analytical tradecraft from a collaborative law enforcement and defense perspective, and how to use Enterprise GIS capabilities to support a multi-mission common operating environment. Geospatial tools, techniques and methods can often be applied to address similar problems with different dynamics- problems such as gangs, narcotics or financial crimes that fuel terrorist and insurgent activities. There will be both a broader discussion of geospatial analytical tradecraft, and a focused discussion with specific examples.
