The Los Angeles Port Police Operations Center

Captain Farrell of the Los Angeles Port Police will discuss dynamics of multiagency response to emergencies and information management issues caused by Unified Commanders reporting to multiple operation centers. The technology deployed in the newly developed Port Police Operations Center will be highlighted, including: NorthSouth GIS’s Esri-based geoPOLA GIS Viewer, NICE’s Situator Situation Management software and Reality Mobile’s Reality Vision.

Captain Farrell is the Commanding Officer of the Port Police’s Tactical Planning and Coordination Division and responsible for Emergency Planning Operations and Technology Integration. Prior to joining Port Police, he was the Officer-in Charge of Los Angles Police Department’s Emergency Operations Section. He was assigned to Emergency Operations Section on September 11, 2001. Farrell was the project manager and developed the specifications for the Los Angeles Regional Common Operational Picture Program, the current standard for the LA and Long Beach Police and Fire Departments, LA County Sheriff’s and Fire Departments.
