Abstract
Satellite-Derived Bathymetry: Performance and Production
Track: Laser Scanning
Authors: Veronique Jegat
Satellite-derived bathymetry (SDB) has proven itself as a useful reconnaissance and planning tool for ocean mapping. Although SDB provides bathymetry products at a coarser spatial resolution compared to traditional surveying techniques, multi-spectral imagery provides a routine repetitive coverage over the same area with advantages for the study of changes in dynamic seabed areas or areas with little survey data. This presentation reviews updates on SDB procedures, performance and products.
