Inexpensive consumer UAVs and high-precision GNSS are quickly emerging as key technologies to generate accurate, ultra high-res imagery for the Esri ecosystem. An inexpensive UAV with a 12MP camera flying NADIR at 200' AGL can generate 1-inch pixel res color imagery and one-foot elevation contours. A 30 acre site can be flown in ~30 minutes with a consumer quad-copter. This powerful toolset opens a new method of data collection for utilities and wide variety of other GIS applications.
