Abstract
Utilizing an low-cost Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) for Coastal Erosion
Track: Imagery Change Detection

A key mission of the Corps of Engineers is to conduct periodic beach replenishment projects in coastal areas where severe erosion can threaten public infrastructure and personal property. A pilot project was conducted by Esri and McKim & Creed to demonstrate the feasibility of using drones to replace or augment these surveys through the use of high resolution 3D mapping from low-cost commercially available Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and Esri's Drones2Map software.
