Almost any case heard by the City Council requires that we notify citizens within 200 feet of the subject tract that there will be a public meeting. Sounds simple, but there are inherent problems with the ownership files that make this task fairly complex. Occurrences such as condominiums, where there are multiple owners, and contiguous lots owned by the same person are two instances of problems that result in notification problems. The City of Euless has been trying various methods to solve this problem and now has a system using regions that is very promising. This presentation will explain some of the notifications problems we have experienced as well as some of the methods we are using to solve them.
