The Rangeland Information System is a customized ArcView GIS graphical user interface (GUI) designed to integrate spatial and tabular information concerning the Range Management Program in the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Sources of rangeland information have been managed separately in the past based on the needs of different functional activities and in different database management systems like the Grazing Authorization Billing System (GABS) and the Range Improvement Project Summary (RIPS). This customized ArcView GIS application integrates spatial data about BLM grazing allotments with the GABS and RIPS databases to provide users with a simplified method of accessing, querying, visualizing, and analyzing common information concerning BLM's leased grazing allotments and associated range management activities.
