Carter & Burgess is a full service consulting firm specializing in planning and engineering that integrates GIS technology into our services. This type of consulting requires us to work simultaneously on a variety of projects, each with a wide variety of data sets. Developing multiple MapObjects Internet Map Server (IMS) applications, each showing a fixed set of spatial data for a separate project, would have been costly to develop and difficult to administer. Therefore, Carter & Burgess has developed a MapObjects IMS application and an innovative object model that allows each Web browser to have a dedicated, customizable, project-specific map, all of which are run from a single, server-side MapObjects IMS application. This approach provides better performance and functionality than the conventional MapObjects IMS approach.
