Haramachi City is a medium-sized city located 80 kilometers south of Sendai in the northern part of the island of Honsyu, Japan. The City is situated in a forested coastal environment and contains a variety of habitat closely surrounding it. The purpose of this project is to create ecological landscapes in Haramachi City. The strong point of the project is collaboration of the specialists. The specialists are an ecologist, economist, hydrologist, meteorologist, energy specialist, transportation specialist, and landscape planner. GIS has been selected as a tool for the collaboration. We will show some of the actual projects in this paper.
