Enterprise GIS--Implementation for a County Government Author: Heidi Lee Hammel 1300 Spring St. Phone: 301-588-8535 Prince George's County, Maryland, has developed and implemented a successful enterprise GIS serving GIS data from a centralized SDE server to over 300 County users. The data is accessed quickly and efficiently via the County's network using a variety of Esri desktop, Web, and custom applications. Centralizing GIS data to a single location ensures that GIS applications, such as desktop and Web access, access the most current data. Recently developed applications that take advantage of the enterprise system include an interactive mapping Web site, an enhanced 911, and a County permits GIS application. |
