The New Jersey Environmental Data Exchange (ENDEX) is a recently implemented Internet site designed for the sharing of environmental information. The ENDEX clearinghouse will provide a "one-stop shopping" type of forum for cooperative problem solving and for the sharing of environmental data including spatial data, metadata, analyses, documents, studies, and maps. The overall goal of ENDEX is to allow the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection to maximize its geographic information technologies to help solve real-world problems. ENDEX demonstrates the many benefits of providing open information access and data sharing on the Internet.
