Andrews Ave. Phone: 954-357-6610 The Broward County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is the lead agency responsible for determining overall policy affecting long-range and short-range transportation programs and plans for Broward County, Florida. The agency started implementing GIS within its organization through a grassroots approach in 1994. This paper will discuss lessons learned in implementing GIS in a local government. Examples will also be presented to demonstrate how the transporation planning process was improved using GIS technology. |
