The global impact of the Internet is not an issue any more. The question now is how do we effectively use the vast expanse of the Internet. This new Internet-enabled paper, which is a companion document to one presented at the 17th Annual Esri User Conference that described the various tools and different approaches used in building Internet applications, should provide some insight. This paper will present a case study comparison of methods and tools used in developing two different applications: PAFI (Public Access to Fisheries Information) and WSCA (Watershed Code Availability). The case study will discuss the usage of ArcView IMS, MapObjects IMS, and the Java programming language, along with other tools used in their development.
