This paper covers the use of a tool developed for the Oregon/Washington BLM to manage a large data acquisition and conversion project. The system incorporates ArcInfo or ArcView GIS with an external Informix database to spatially track data coming from many different sources. The locations of source data, processing status of multiple layer multiple step projects, and metadata information, among others, are all tracked by this tool. Using a spatial display of the project's progress provides immediate and comprehensive information to multiple users at all levels of involvement throughout the two-state area.
