Out sourced data conversion projects are typically lengthy and onerous projects. Having a well written specification and a qualified conversion contractor team is only the first step toward a successful conversion project--the ultimate success or failure of the project is also dependent on "client-side" factors such as the in-house conversion team, the extent of on-the-job education provided to the client, the extent of QC tools, a list of the "been there, done that" contacts, a quality control plan, and
time/commitment to the project. This presentation will discuss the aspects of what has and has not worked from the experiences of the presenter, who has been on the conversion contractor team and the client team. The presenter will also outline the GIS tools used during the conversion projects and "what I will do differently next time."
