The Town of Okotoks is one of the 10 Canadian communities that have been identified under the Sustainable Communities program within Natural Resources Canada to facilitate intergovernmental data sharing in a pilot project format. The purpose of the project has been to work intergovernmentally to share common data and use GIS technology to assist the partnering communities to provide a better understanding of the cumulative impacts of various human acitivities and determine the most critical problems common to the Sheep River watershed.
