The Sheep River Watershed Information Management System (WIMSS): A Tool for Analyzing Common Critical Factors Author: Wayne Gearey 110, 3030 Third Ave. Phone: 403-207-0303 The Town of Okotoks is one of the 10 Canadian communities that have been identified under the Sustainable Communities program within Natural Resources Canada to facilitate intergovernmental data sharing in a pilot project format. The purpose of the project has been to work intergovernmentally to share common data and use GIS technology to assist the partnering communities to provide a better understanding of the cumulative impacts of various human acitivities and determine the most critical problems common to the Sheep River watershed. |
