Digital Orthophoto Data as a Part of Library Services Author: Steven P. Morris DH Hill Library Phone: (919) 513-2614 The North Carolina State University libraries provide networked access to GIS and remote sensing data resources. Demand for digital orthophotography data originates from a range of academic departments and campus units. The data is made available in multiple formats for use in a wide variety of applications by users with varying technical skills and varying computing resources. MrSID compression and Internet Map Server applications are used to make the data more widely accessible. The experience of the NCSU libraries and broader trends in library handling of digital orthophoto data will be addressed. |
