The scope of this project is to assess the accuracy of LIDAR data for use in coastal management. By taking beach profiles using a wide array of equipment, an accuracy analysis can be created. This analysis will show the accuracy of LIDAR versus traditional surveying techniques. The importance of this project falls in the coastal arena. Real-time data on beach conditions is invaluable to a coastal engineer during severe storm conditions.
