The Terrain Data Fusion System (TDFS) is an application employed to generate digital terrain databases for synthetic natural environments (SNEs) used in constructive warfare simulations. The TDFS is based on the ArcInfo Open Development Environment (ODE), making extensive use of ActiveX Component Object Model (COM) objects and providing a graphical user interface (GUI). TDFS capabilities include automated and interactive database production, import of National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) data products, conversion of these products to a standard data model (terrain common data model), integration and registration of the data for simulation, and export in a standard product format.
