Presented by Edward Riegelmann
The United States Air Force commitment to sustaining our core competencies in agile combat support and information superiority requires that available geospatial information technologies be employed on our Air Force installations as corporate knowledge management resources. Accordingly, the Air Force is directing the establishment of a geospatial knowledge management infrastructure on our operating bases known as the Air Force GeoBase Program. This program will minimize operational risk by enhancing situational awareness to support time-critical, operational, and strategic decision making. Concurrently, the USAF will reduce information technology investment risk and infrastructure costs through shared investment and use of critical geospatial knowledge. This presentation will explore and explain the new USAF GeoBase initiative. We will provide examples of lessons learned that have helped advance a focused, principles-based geospatial knowledge management program to address Air Force mission needs.
