Using the multidimensional array capabilities of Visual Basic (VB) and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) can mimic the raster environment of GRID, yet perform spatial operations much faster. This paper demonstrates some of the performance differences between GRID and VB as well as simple techniques for transferring GRID data between ArcInfo and VB/VBA. |
