This presentation focuses on powerful environmental software solutions and techniques that have been used to manage various events and projects associated with the petroleum industry. Several projects ranging from estuary impacts from pipeline incidents, UST technical data management and site-based risk communication techniques will be discussed. These projects demonstrate some of the advantages that can be realized when environmental data are managed in a programmatic fashion and then made available to be dynamically viewed via a geographical information system interface. Implementation issues and how they were addressed with these techniques will also accompany this discussion.
