Abstract
Park & Ride Lots: Demand Estimation and Location Analysis Using GIS

This paper outlines a process used in Northern Virginia to identify patronage demand for Park and Ride lots. Steps in the analysis include demand estimation in coordination with travel demand forecasting techniques, identification of potential new lot locations using environmental screening, and identification of potential lot sharing locations using parcel information and satellite imagery. The presentation will include a demonstration of a Web-based information tool for Park and Ride lot customers.
