Enhancing Local Government GIS Services with High-Resolution Imagery Information Products

The local government GIS market has witnessed significant growth in the use of emerging technologies in supporting the activities of GIS personnel across a wide variety of applications. The integration of high-resolution satellite imagery into local government GIS applications has become common in many localities, but the capabilities of this level of imagery and imagery-derived information products are unknown to many potential users that would benefit from its use. This presentation will discuss the incorporation of high-resolution satellite imagery-derived information products into a wide range of local government applications, as well as what the future holds for local governments in utilizing visual information technology for increased work flow productivity.
